Una mirada sobre la enseñanza universitaria

Abstract

The university is a Middle Ages creation that today, in the 21st century, continues to exist, transformed, accompanying to a greater or lesser extent the changes and mutations that the history of Western man has gone through. Although over time it has adopted multiple functions, teaching and research are not only maintained to this day but are also presented as institutional identity features. The person in charge of carrying them out is the same actor: the teacher.

This work focuses on one of the activities in his charge: teaching. Its objectives are: to outline its definition by approaching it from various theoretical perspectives such as, among others, pedagogical, didactic and discursive; to present the conditions of possibility of its realization in the university today and to give visibility to naturalized practices focused on university teaching that will allow us to rethink their place within the educational institution.

Los The factors that determine the level of permanence in university students: a methodological proposal

The following article seeks to identify the personal, social and institutional factors that influence or determine the level of permanence of first year students of the Public Accounting Career of the distance modality at the FASTA University. These results served as the basis for the design of a data collection model which facilitates the gathering of information in future applications of the study.

This work was organized in three stages: the first consisted of identifying how much is known about the topic, based on reading the bibliography written by the main authors in order to systematize and select the determining factors, variables and indicators. In the second phase, intervies were carried out to know the understanding about the topic of referents who engaged with the problematic which is studied. Finally, the systematization of the information was carried out and an integrated analysis of factors, variables and levels of permanence model was built.

The variables for this model were sorted out in those related to personal and external aspects of students which will allow the study of them and then the sketch of different strategies to achieve permanence.

Prácticas profesionales supervisadas: potenciando la formación profesional en Ingeniería Biomédica

This work seeks to highlight the importance of supervised professional practice in the specific context of Biomedical Engineering. It emphasizes the aspect of supervision and continuous improvement in the practical training of advanced students, who have already passed the third year of the Biomedical Engineering degree at the Universidad Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires. It also provides information to understand the dynamics and requirements of this supervised professional practice. This subject, which is part of the training curriculum of our future biomedical engineers, aims to enable students to put into practice the knowledge acquired in an environment that faithfully reproduces the reality of the daily work of the profession. Also, it provides a scenario that allows them to generate complete, well-planned, executed and substantiated solution proposals for real problems.

El uso del portafolio como herramienta de auto-evaluación y reflexión de las prácticas de enseñanza en los futuros profesores en Ciencias Biológicas (U.N.Sa.)

This research was focused on the analysis of portfolios about classroom experiences that the practitioners themselves wrote when they were doing their teaching practice in their last year of the undergraduate Teacher Training Degree in Biology. The participants evaluated up to which extent the use of this tool favours self-awareness and reflective skills by promoting positive attitudes to overcome fixed stereotypes and to enhance achievements. The methodology used was descriptive and the data obtained was qualitative. Questionnaires with open questions, which were relevant to the features, characteristics and variables of the object under study, were used to collect data. Interviews were carried out to understand the practitioners’ perspectives about their experiences. The impact relied on the practitioners’ degree of direct involvement in the critical revision and reconsideration of their own performance in the school when writing their reflective autobiographical account.

The present study reports on research conducted as part of a master's thesis on Education Management and Evaluation, which investigated the development of research management in a private university in the province of Buenos Aires during the years 2017 to 2020. The study focused on analyzing human resources and scientific production to identify capacities and gaps, with the aim of strengthening the research function and designing an integrated plan, understanding management as the organization and leadership of the institution to achieve its essential purposes.

Universities play a central role in the production and dissemination of scientific knowledge in Argentina, and research is one of their core functions. In this context, multiple challenges and complexities emerge in planning and coordinating university activities. Therefore, it is essential to rethink the development of research management in these institutions, considering evaluation as a continuous and systematic activity, taking into account the wide variety of actors and scientific disciplines involved.

The teaching work during the first quarter of the 21^st Century renews the crisis on the act of transmitting which seems to be inherent to the task. The present essay recapitulates the historic-cultural logic that has led to the aforementioned crisis after modernity to indicate that what this crisis demands is the redefinition of all the actors who are education related. It aims to demonstrate that what urges now is to surmount passive learners faced with educators who solely transmit information in order to focus on a new form of interacting: educators who allow learners to take on an inherited culture and to transform it by appropriating it whilst permitting to develop skills that not only allow to transcend the mere receiving of information, but also lead towards attitudes more socially engaged and more empathetic with humanity.

Consensual curriculum and ethics of discourse

In this work, the notion of curriculum in education and the way in which it is constructed and naturalized in everyday educational praxis are problematized. The aforementioned problematization is based on the general developments of Discourse Ethics in its Habermasian version. In this sense, in 1) some general considerations of J. Habermas's proposal are presented, in 2) the reflections that the German author carries out in the work Knowledge and Interest are synthesized and systematized, for the purposes of this article, In 2.1) the relationship between theory and praxis is problematized and, finally, final considerations are presented. Far from seeking a conclusive and closed character, they seek openness to critical discourse and reflective exchange around the problem.

Cooperación Sur-Sur universitaria: una nueva forma de colaboración entre América Latina y África

Tradicionalmente las universidades latinoamericanas y africanas cooperaron en forma asimétrica con un enfoque (Norte-Sur). El presente artículo es un trabajo elaborado según un objetivo claro que es examinar la cooperación universitaria Sur-Sur, con un sentido de horizontalidad, racionalidad y corresponsabilidad que anima a la apertura y al compartir. Para ello hemos tomado como estudio de caso la colaboración del Instituto Superior Internacional de Turismo de Tánger (ISITT) con la Universidad Santo Tomas de Chile (UST) y el Instituto Técnico Santo Tomas. Este ejemplo constituye un modelo exitoso de cooperación entre las instituciones universitarias africanas y latinoamericanas. Nuestra investigación se enfoca en exponer cómo se ha llevado a cabo esta colaboración, qué beneficios ha traído para ambas partes y cómo ha contribuido al desarrollo y la internalización de la educación superior en ambos países.

Decoding and comprehension processes in first-grade children's reading

This research analyzes the processes of decoding and reading comprehension in 44 children from public and private schools in the city of Salta. This study examines the routes to reading access (Jaichenco, 2009), lexical and sublexical, used by children, with a predominance of the former. To evaluate the understanding of the alphabetic principle, individual interviews were conducted with first-grade children using a pictogram book that contained the lyrics of a previously learned song.

It was observed that most children read using the lexical route in most cases, although they also use the sublexical route for unfamiliar or less familiar words. The interviewed children who do not read rely on context to interpret the content of the book. Additionally, two levels of interpretation were identified, and the importance of phonological awareness in learning to read is emphasized.
