Abstract

This paper presents a reflection on the contributions of the Encyclical Laudato Si in relation to the social and environmental crisis of our time. It is argued that, in Francis' diagnosis of this double crisis, its origin is associated with a profound spiritual crisis, which stems from the generalisation of a culture of extreme relativism. Finally, it is argued, the Encyclical contains an exhortation to take concrete and immediate action to overcome this crisis.
