Algorithmic life and Human Rights.

The so-called cognitive enhancements and their potential problems.

Keywords: cognitive enhancements, human rights, posthumanism.

Abstract

It is a fact that intelligent algorithms are currently managing to solve a large number of tasks that assist people in their daily lives. This is done through techniques such as machine learning, neural networks, genetic algorithms, facial recognition, etc. Their applications in banking, music, shopping, health, social networks and security make us aware of this reality. Among these advances today we mention the so-called cognitive enhancements. In this paper we analyze what they are about and how they influence the system of human rights, such as equality, equity, dignity and self-determination mainly between enhanced or revised humans - Cyborgs - and others who are not.
